Steve Drake is a renowned British Chef whose career and achievements set high standards in the world of gastronomy. His culinary journey began at the age of 17 at the famous Ritz Hotel.

In the 1990s, he honed his skills under the tutelage of 2 and 3 Michelin-starred culinary icons such as Marco Pierre White, Nico Ladenis, and Tom Aikens. This experience was crucial in shaping his precision and pursuit of perfection.

A breakthrough moment in Drake’s career was winning the Roux Scholarship in 2001 – the most prestigious culinary award in the UK, confirming his exceptional skills and creativity.

Steve Drake’s consistency and talent are reflected in the fact that he has earned and maintained a Michelin star in three different restaurants, a rare achievement in the industry.

Currently, Steve Drake is the driving force behind Sorrel restaurant in Dorking (Surrey). This establishment has been continuously awarded a Michelin star and four AA Rosettes for eight years and regularly appears in the Top 100 best restaurants in the UK rankings. It is at Sorrel that his culinary vision is fully realized.
